For the past few months, my tumblr and fan girl life have led astray. Don’t ask me why, blame it all on the acad work load that I’ve been juggling since June. Every year, I see to it that I write my list of ‘resolution 101 and things to achieve’ for the sake of being.. well being mature. Don’t laugh. I guess I got used to having a list of what nots to keep me sane for the entire year. It’s not every day you get to meet a girl who keeps her list of aspirations safely tucked inside her planner’s sleeve. Forget that I told you where I keep it. Anyway 2012 has been made of oooohs and blaaahs and here are some of my to-do-list for this year:
1.) Learn how to drive
2.) Learn how to cook
3.) Blog twice a month 4.) Spare my hair from whatever wrath and boredom I bear Obviously 1 & 2 are no boners. Have to catch up with my 3rd year standing in UP, so I took 6 units of non-cmc electives last summer. (And yes, I’m a certified GC. Go figure) That went well, but unfortunately I had to let go of my planned driving and cooking lessons. I grew up watching Iron Chef and Barefoot Contessa; tried cooking my own version of carbonarra and my home-boy brother ate it as if its edible. Nom. Mom was pushing me to do it, given the reason that our previous ‘kubo’ exit was renovated to a dirty kitchen. On the other hand, the driving lesson has its obvious reasons. I can give a list of when and how our family driver gives a shit and throw tantrums for waking up early. Most of the time, he drives me to school and I ride the MRT going home. But my mom thinks that one of us should learn how to drive for emergency reasons. And that ‘one of us’ isn’t going to be my brother. Heck, it wouldn’t be mom. So yeah, hello pretty family driver! Some of my maskom friends can drive, and believe it or not they gave me the push that I needed. All I have to do is clear my sem-break and schedule my kick-ass driving lessons. Cooking lessons won’t hurt, but that would be a one-on-one session with super momma. So I guess, one and two can be accomplished before the year ends.
No.3 says blog twice a month (x) and 4 is quite impossible but then again who cares haha!
Being a Mass Comm student entails a LOT of writinggg and when I say a lot like 20 pages a lot. I’ve never been really confident about my writing. If you ask me, I prefer sitting behind the console or shouting orders at my gaffers than writing news articles that goes through numerous amount of fact checks. I guess, the twice a month blogging thing will help me practice my precious writing skills. Well blogs are definitely a venue for freedom of expression and network neutrality; why not make use of it? And while I’m typing my woes away, this certain objective is yet again running wild somewhere at the back of my head and palm. (huh palm) The fact that one of my professors gave me a heads up on my paper gave me a boost. So why not give it a try?
Now number four is.. how do I put it, uh it gives me a sense of assurance that I’ll keep my hair long for the time being! But obviously I got bored and kuya was like ‘dafuq your hair’. I have this fettish wherein I text my friends this simple question every year “Long or short?” For some it seems vague and stupid. Come on, some would prolly think that I’m asking for the length of my outfit or something. But 14 years of friendship will do you good, and they’ll just bash me and reply whatever. Btw guys, I love you. So now I’m sporting a semi-long hairdo. Aye.
There goes my list!
I sure hell wanna learn how to drive, and I want to keep my hair and plans intact.
